On Life - Darren Mark Moore
Pro Footballers - Darren Moore

As I started out in my football career I was like most young men who thought that wealth was about money in the bank, a house, fast car and Burton_Wycombe_091010_WYC0055possessions.  The drive for material things seemed for me, and also for many other people, to offer a motive and vision for life, and a promise of contentment and happiness.  I have discovered how wrong I was because although my career enabled me to have all these things at a relatively young age my reward just seemed to be anxiety and pressure.  Jesus put it this way "Life is not measured by how much one owns". (Luke 12 v 15)  So what is it that makes me feel rich?  Well, I have the free gift of peace which comes from putting my life in God's hands.  I no longer crave after more possessions but am thankful to God for all He has given me.  Are you content with what you have?

"Store your treasures in heaven where they cannot be destroyed by moths or rust and where thieves cannot break in and steal them."  Matthew 6 v 20
