Academy Graduation
We had our 2015/16 Faith & Football Enterprise and Leadership Academy Graduation at the Portsmouth Guildhall, celebrating the incredible achievement of the 15 students on the Academy. The Lord Mayor Councillor David Fuller opened the Lord Mayor’s Parlour and Banqueting Suite to the students, parents and guests. The evening consisted of speeches from all the students who shared and reflected on all that they have learnt over the course of their year on the Academy.
Each of the students delivered their personal account with confidence and had significantly improved on their public speaking since first joining the Academy. This is accounted to the work and challenges they have done over the year, including Toastmasters public speaking training. Every student spoke of how they have grown and the things they have learnt, not only about the world of business but about life in general too.
Each year one student is awarded with the Outstanding Achievement award. This year it was awarded to James Saunders from Oaklands Catholic School.

Family Fun at Time Out!
We finished our summer season at our Buckland League with a “Time Out” session for families with the presentation of medals and trophies for the participants.
This “Time Out” session had the theme of God is Love and all families took part in four craft stations based around this theme. The families made wooden spoon people, love greeting cards to give to their loved ones, a love bookmark and a pasta necklace and bracelet. Along with completing the crafts, the children were told by the “Time Out” team of volunteers just how much God loves them, sharing teaching and Bible verses about God’s love for them and how special they are to Him.
We finished the session with a medal and trophy presentation, all the children and families were excited to hear who the overall winners of the season were. This season the black team were the winners.
It was a great privilege to have Gail Chipperfield with us again, wife of the late David Chipperfield, to present the David Chipperfield award. This season it was awarded to Daniel.

We’ve had another great year of the Extra Time Literacy Scheme. We had our final presentations at six schools across the city. All the children were presented with a certificate and a Bible as well as a few awards for the Cheeky Monkey, Thumbs Up, Little Angel and Good Samaritan of the groups.

The children have significantly improved since the first session of the programme, in both their reading ability, confidence and character.

A massive thank you to our amazing team of volunteers who have been reading with the children each week!
