Community Festival
This year Faith & Football initiated a new business programme at Portsmouth College for students who were keen to develop their enterprise and leadership potential.  The “Business Tank” ran for an academic year and saw 12 students develop and run their very own events management company.  The vision behind the business was to run events to celebrate the 30th Anniversary of the college for students, staff and special guests to enjoy the success of the college.

The company named “Milestone Events” organised a black tie event for the principal and special dignitaries as well as a first class Community Festival for all the students, staff and general public to enjoy!  The college field was plastered with community stalls, bouncy castles, food outlets, a stage for live music and loads of people which made for an excellent occasion enjoyed by all!  Steve Frampton, Principal of Portsmouth College, said of the event, “To see what the students have been able to achieve for us to be able to celebrate, on top of all their revision and exams is truly remarkable!  It has been an incredible day and will go down in college history!”

Students attending the Faith & Football Enterprise and Leadership Academy had a great day at our annual outdoor leadership day at the YMCA Fairthorne Manor.

They took part in a series of challenging leadership exercises including the low ropes, obstacle course and shelter building.  The development of leadership qualities is the core aim of our Academy and during the academic year the students who are with us are consistently faced with challenges to help them develop and step out of their comfort zones.

Each student had to overcome obstacles, face their fears and demonstrate leadership skills to bring their team to victory!

The Faith & Football business mentors receive no greater encouragement than to see the future leaders of our City have this gifting flourish. This is why the day at YMCA was a significant event and proved another step forward in their progress to future positions of influence.
