Launched in November the Faith & Football Business Tank programme at Portsmouth College has shaped the students progress enabling them to form an events business called "Milestone Events". The students have formed a board of directors, allocated roles and conducted board meetings to establish a strategic approach to working with their client, the Portsmouth College.
The business is organising the 30th anniversary events for the College and following on from a customer fact find the board made a presentation to the College Principal outlining the two major events they felt would make the celebrations memorable. Their proposal contained a Festival Day at the College for students, past and present, staff and the local community and a Black Tie event for local dignitaries and businesses both of which were well received.
Already the journey has proven invaluable for the students. They are developing an understanding of business, leadership qualities, teamwork, accountability and responsibility, all the skills needed to deliver the events successfully and which will be readily transferrable to their future respective careers.

Climax to the winter season at our Buckland league saw our Christmas “Time Out” for families session with presentation of medals and trophies for participants.
All of our families attended and took part in a series of activities focused on the Christmas message of God sending His son Jesus to earth.  Mums, dads, grandparents and children made footprint mangers, crowns, greetings cards and candy cane mice helped by the league managers who dressed variously as elves, reindeers and Santa’s helpers to add to the atmosphere. The fun atmosphere created at the session was highlighted by the donut eating competition between parents and children – narrowly won by the parents!
During the league season we always have a half time slot bringing biblical truths to the youngsters who take part to point them to Jesus which are enthusiastically received. It was a privilege to be able to speak to parents and children alike about the real meaning of Christmas about God’s gift to us.
The evening was rounded off with all the youngsters receiving a medal and the winning team lifting the trophies!
